Coverage status. Colorado, Vermont, Oregon and Washington are transcribed in full from their statewide coalition directories. California draws heavily on the California Mountain Biking Coalition's member directory (camtb.org/members), the closest thing CA has to a single source. All other states are assembled org-by-org from web research — every entry's URL and active status was independently checked before inclusion, but these aren't full coalition rosters and may be missing groups, especially in SORBA's eight-state Southeast footprint where only 1-2 chapters per state are listed so far. Tier definitions: national = umbrella body spanning the whole country (IMBA, NICA); regional = umbrella spanning multiple states or a broad multi-community footprint (NEMBA, SORBA, MORE); statewide = coalition of local orgs within one state; local = town, county, or regional chapter. Chapters carry a parent field linking them to their statewide or regional body (e.g. NEMBA for New England, SORBA for the Southeast, CAMTB for California).
Sources: comtb.org, vmba.org, ormtbcoalition.org, evergreenmtb.org, nemba.org, sorba.org, camtb.org, imba.com, plus individual org sites. Verify before citing — 501(c)(3) status is claimed by the orgs themselves and not independently confirmed here. Some entries link to Facebook, Trailforks, or MTB Project pages where no dedicated organization website could be found.
